So, that's still Amber's apartment, right? It looked like it, but the angles were different than they were the other times we've seen it, so I'm not %100.
Yes, I am 100% certain that is Amber's apartment. Same wall color, same decor, same layout.

I actually wondered if they were setting up for the old team to be reinstated.
I would hope not because I like I what I see in regards to Chase and Cameron moving on with their lives. Now that they're out of House's shadow, they're able to blossom a bit -- like Cameron running the Outreach Clinic. That's not something she could have done under House. I like them better working with but not for House.

Okay. I loved this. I think they had a really good balance between the medicine and the soap opera -- I could actually understand what was going on. I loved everyone in this -- especially the House/Cuddy/Wilson scenes. Cuddy was a badass, and Wilson was... my hero. I loved that she kissed his cheek.
And it was lovely that Cameron got a lot of time. I really like the development that she's been running the Community Outreach. I think that's really good for her.
The ending, with the patient going outside and House chickening out, was very predictable.
It was, and yet my heart still broke for House. Only Hugh could make such a cliche hurt that bad.
Ditto what Chippers said.
And Wilson. Ah Wilson, always hoping your best bud will find happiness, aren't you? I'm afraid it's a losing battle. House is fighting himself on happiness.
I STILL think House is experiencing his own PTSD and the mention of it in this episode just further solidifies that for me.
And you know what? I still love this show. To heck with the naysayers.

Okay, randomly, because it went by kind of quickly and I missed it - what was the joke about Ric Ocasek?

Thanks, I thought so, I just wanted to be sure.

I doubt they're going to do it, but it was funny how many times House talked about them coming back (even though one time was so he could fire Cameron). Tonight worked, but this isn't a permanent solution IMO. 13 and Kutner were barely visible. They're never going to be accepted by the audience until they are as involved with House and each other as CCF were in the first few seasons.

Waaaayy too Greys-ish for me. We don't see Cameron and Chase for a year and then they expect us to be engrossed by which apartment they stay at. Kutner is portrayed as unbelievably incompetent, and there were a lot of bad puns (less-phine). Wilson's haircut was amusing, but everyone I was watching it with talked about how RSL didn't even seem to be trying to act and how the H/W/C triangle was just lame for this show. And the obvious parallels about pain and misery between house and the patient were soooo blatant, as was Wilson repeatedly stating House's feelings out loud. I did enjoy the big things in her bra comment, and a few other lines, btu I was mostly cringing and 2 of my friends said they were giving up. One kept IMing me saying "wahhhhh" every scene about the complete sappiness going on. It seems like the show suddenly got different producers and writers.

And yet, when they are, one gets complaints that they're getting too much screen time, and where the hell did C&C go? So, I don't think anyone's going to be pleased all the time.

I LOVED this episode!! So much fun. It was great to see the old team, they all work so well with House...and they reminded me how even though I enjoy the new team, they can never replace CCF. The House/Wilson scenes made my day...Wilson touched House 3 times when House went to his apartment! eeeeeee!!!!! In the span of about 2 minutes? The director made me so incredibly happy tonight. I could do without the House/Cuddy moments (I'm a hard core H/W shipper & I support nothing that stands in the way of that), but they were well done...so all in all, a great episode. One I will definetly rewatch over and over again.

Great episode.
I loved the Cameron and Chase story. I also loved Wilson trying to play matchmaker for House and Cuddy. I even liked Taub and Thirteen in this one, but wish they would use Kutner more.
I thought parallels between the patient, Camreon and House were well done. It was interesting that the patient and Cameron were able to move forward, when House could not. I could'nt help but feel bad for the House in that last scene. He wants to change his life but he can't bring himself to take the first step.
OldHamster- 11-11-2008
Cameron! OMG, Cameron! They actually gave her something to do besides hand over a cool ER case to House. And she got to wear her hair down and put something on besides scrubs. JM is a gorgeous woman, and the scrubs and utilitarian ER hair knot do not do her justice. It's nice to see her in all her beauty.
Yes, I like her, and I ship her with House, but I have no hope that this will ever happen in canon. I'm happy with my Hammy little fanfic-verse. But it's refreshing to see her (and Chase) with major roles to play in an episode, which hasn't happened since season 3.
I cringed when she woke up the patient to tell him he was in the hospital -- smacked of Insane Moral Compass Cam from seasons 1 and 2, and I could just imagine the hateration from her detractors. But it wasn't simply because she had a problem with lying to the patient -- it was because he trusted *her* to respect his wishes, and she went against them.
I know that this show always draws parallels between the PotW's issues and the regular characters'. But it is just me, or was this episode more anvilicious than usual with that point? (PotW needs to get out; House needs to open himself up to a relationship; Cam needs to let Chase in).
::dives into shallow end:: House + surgical cap = HOT. ::climbs out of shallow end and fans self vigorously::
Taiga- 11-11-2008
The PotW's agoraphobia was really was a huge anvil. For God's sake, writers, stop beating us over the head with the parallels. What happened to people just getting sick? I'm imagining a screening process for House's department where whoever is reading the mail now throws out requests for consultations where the case doesn't connect with the team's issues.
I thought it was a fitting characterization for him too that he would keep quiet about feeling like he was unwanted for so long because he had to learn to be longsuffering dealing with his mother.
No offense, but why is every bad quality of Chase's excused away by his childhood? Unlike the badly beaten dead horse that is Cameron's PDH issues, that parallel has never even been drawn on the show. Chase's not being willing to confront people isn't because he's his mother's son, it's Chase being Chase.
I loved Cuddy in this ep. Wilson's heart was in the right place but yes, he was being an idiot. I found myself really wanting House to knock on Cuddy's door at the end, but knew he wouldn't.
I'm looking forward to the medical review, because lead poisoning from bullet fragments didn't make a whole lot of sense.
I'm glad Cameron is acknowledging that she has PDH hangups, but what is with that anyway? It's been what, ten years since He Whose Name Must Never Be Revealed died? Also, she knew he was dying when they first met. Watching him die must have been terrible, but it's not like Wilson (or PotW) where losing the loved one was unexpected.

Really? Because my little brother (with all of six months' worth of chemistry) was able to call that from about five minutes in. I mean, I didn't see it coming, but I'm scientifically-challenged, so every final diagnosis is a surprise to me.
ETA: Just remembered what little I know about lead poisoning: it always takes place over time. The lead builds up in the system, and it isn't biodegradable. Usually it's washed out naturally if the patient is properly nourished and hydrated, but if a patient is unhealthy -- and the lead is stuck in his hip -- then he's going to be poisoned.

I cringed too, I knew that would end badly. I'll forgive her because she was good with Chase and seemed to genuinely want to make things work with him, but seriously? I've dealt with agoraphobia before, and if she thought he wouldn't lose it, or that she could keep him calm, I just don't know what to say.
But it is just me, or was this episode more anvilicious than usual with that point?
Yes, pretty obvious with the H/Cu and C/C parallels, but not as anvilicious as Grey's is, so I can let is slide this once.
Poeia- 11-11-2008
When there were only 3 fellows, there was always imbalance between the size of their roles from episode to episode.
Maternity - Cameron
Damned If You Do - Chase
Fidelity - Cameron
Poison - Foreman
DNR - Foreman
Histories - Foreman
Cursed - Chase
and so on. Now that there are 6 doctors working with/for House, it's going to be more pronounced. I objected to 4 of the first 5 episodes of the season being all about my least favorite newcomer. If 2 or 3 of the 6 has a prominent role one week with the others less important, that's fine with me as long as it evens out over time.
everyone I was watching it with talked about how RSL didn't even seem to be trying to act One of the basic rules of good actis is "Never let them catch you acting." I thought RSL was excellent tonight. Yes, he didn't seem to be acting, but he didn't remind me at all of Robert Sean Leonard. I was watching a loose and comfortable Wilson.
