"I can tell your secrets." I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I would love to hear about some of Wilson's secrets! Especially from House's perspective, with his great story telling. I second that!

Boffle- 09-23-2008

House can keep secrets. Sometimes. He kept Cuddy's fertility meds secret and he didn't tell Chase about his father's condition. It was Wilson who spilled House's secrets (didn't really have syphilis for one). But now, all bets are off.

It was hard for me to understand the POTW's story Because it didn't make any sense, at least that stuff Kutner was going on about didn't. Which bothered me. A lot. I don't expect the medicine to be realistic, but I do expect logic. (takes a deep breath) I already babbled on my LJ but a few other thoughts I had were 1) yes to Cuddy showing backbone, 2) like Poeia I noticed that Chase was the only original cast member not in contact with Wilson, 3) why would they update the credits to add HL's name as executive producer but not to add the newbie's names?, 4) why the hell is Wilson reading magazines about restoring barns, 5) aw, House said there are better oncologists, 6) Wilson makes $300 an hour? He'll be able to afford it when House sticks him with the P.I.'s bill, 7) Am I the only one who thought that Dr O'Shea looked like a silver-haired Wilson?, and most of all 8 ) I'm enjoying this tack on seeing what Wilson means to House.

Gah. I loved this episode. It made me laugh out loud several times. I loved the whole House - O'Shea interaction, and I think I like Lucas a lot. The ep had the best medical mystery I've seen on House in a long time. I even cared about the patient, a little, but mostly I enjoyed the mystery. I even liked the gory parts (sorry).

3) why would they update the credits to add HL's name as executive producer but not to add the newbie's names? Hugh's producer credit does not appear in the opening "Teardrop" theme; it appears as part of the opening credits which appear after the theme, atop the episode. Am I making sense? Those credits are updated each episode. They start with • Also starring Peter Jacobson • Kal Penn • Olivia Wilde • Then they have the guest actors for that episode. • Then they run through all the producers and executive producers. • Then the writer. • Then the director. I may not have the order exactly right, but it's close. Anyway, obviously for every episode they have to update the writer, director, and guest actors in that credit sequence. It's really not much work to add Hugh's name, as they go in for each episode to add/change names. It's more work to change the opening theme and its accompanying visuals, but I think the reason they haven't changed it is more about contract issues. I hope they never add the newbies to the Teardrop theme sequence (or otherwise change it in any way). If they do, I'll cry.

What's this about her having 20/200 vision and being blind?? I have 20/400 vision and I just wear contacts!

Boffle- 09-24-2008

I'm with you on that Night Owl, I think the opening credit sequence is magical, I can never fast forward through it, it just transports me into House's world and I really, really hope they never change it. Putting the newbies in the also starring sequence makes perfect sense. It also makes me think they won't be around for more than a year or two. Which is fine by me. I like 'em but I'll never be as attached to them.

According to this website, "20/200 vision or worse is the legal definition of blindness."

olivia720- 09-24-2008

According to this website, "20/200 vision or worse is the legal definition of blindness." So I guess that's why she qualified for a corneal transplant. I'm confused. Couldn't she just wear glasses or get lasik? She must've had something else wrong.

NightOwl- 09-24-2008

Yea, I don't know, olivia. Does short-sightedness have anything to do with the cornea? I don't think so; eyesight is more about the shape of the eyeball, isn't it? I can't remember. (I should remember; I did my 6th grade science fair project on the eye. More than 20 years ago. And I wear contacts myself, though I have no idea what my vision is.) And apparently, corneal transplants are done to replace a damaged or diseased cornea. So I guess she had corneal issues that were interfering with her vision (rather than the usual eyeball-shape reasons for poor vision)?

What's this about her having 20/200 vision and being blind?? I have 20/400 vision and I just wear contacts! Yeah, I have 20/200, and I wear contacts/glasses. When she said that I'm like, "What? I need Dr. House!"

olivia720- 09-24-2008

I sooo wanted House and Wilson to make up tonight. Awww :( For reals. Funny, all these years I didn't know I was legally blind! Now I got THAT going for me!

Verbal_Kint10- 09-24-2008

Gosh, now I'm crippled AND legally blind. Oh woe is me  And I too want them to kiss and make up, but it needs to be more...epic, you know? Based on Wilson's comment tonight about not answering the door, I wouldn't be surprised if he's not in the next episode at all. (sorry if someone already said that)

The big secret that House knows of Wilson's is the one that could ruin Wilson. One that Wilson didn't tell House but kept from him and that House found out on his own. That Wilson slept and moved in with Grace, a terminally ill patient of his. That made me say uh, oh. Maybe the barn restoration is something Wilson would want to do now as part of his going away and moving on. One of his DHA, that he never did for himself because of the wives and staying near House. That would certanly take him away from Princeton. The H/W scene was beautiful and painful from both of them. I feel like the POTW before she was cured was seeing the world the way House sees everything now that he is without Wilson. It's all dull, foggy & grey. House can go on but there's no beauty in anything without Wilson.

Boffle- 09-24-2008

The House Wilson meeting had a sad element to it but I was really glad that Wilson held his ground and that House said the "we're not friends" thing to him. W. looked a little shocked. And it's great that House got his epiphany without Wilson. Now he's looking at what Wilson meant to him and considering alternatives. Thinking House is way better than frozen House. I think he does see beauty in the world because he sees it as it is and that is part of the world, just not all of it. He has to see it or he wouldn't have realized that that was what was missing from the patient. She was an architect who didn't see beauty. It doesn't fit. So that gave him his epiphany, that she wasn't seeing right not because of the cornes but because of the way her brain was interpreting her sight. Then he realized he could cure her and make her life better by fixing her up so she could see the beauty in the world, or at least the world as it is, both beautiful and ugly. He's rebounding and Wilson is moving on: of course, they both have a long way to go and probably won't get there, but so far, these things seem healthy to me.
